Interseguro appoints new CEO
Lima, Peru, November 7, 2011. Intergroup Financial Services Corp. (“IFS” or “the Company”) (Bolsa de Valores de Lima: IFS) announced that its subsidiary, Interseguro, appointed Mr. Gonzalo Basadre as Chief Executive Officer, replacing Mr. Juan Carlos Vallejo, who will become Chief Executive Officer of Intercorp Retail. Mr. Basadre will assume his new role at Interseguro January 1, 2012.
Mr. Basadre has served as Chief Investment Officer at Interseguro since 2004. Prior to joining Interseguro, Mr. Basadre worked in the Investment Banking and Private Equity Division at Banco Santander in Lima, Miami, and Madrid. Previous to that, Mr. Basadre worked at AFP Horizonte as head of Treasury. Mr. Basadre holds an MBA from Harvard University.
Mr. Juan Carlos Vallejo, has served as Interseguro´s General Manager since 1998. Mr. Vallejo joined the Interbank Group in 1997 to manage Interseguro’s start‐up. From 1988 to 1997, Mr. Vallejo worked at Consorcio Nacional de Seguros, the largest life insurance company in Chile, as Actuarial and Technology Manager. Mr. Vallejo holds an MBA from the INCAE Business School in Costa Rica.
