Interbank successfully issues US$500 million senior bonds in the international market
This is the largest issuance that the bank has made to date. Despite this, demand was almost three times the size of the issue.
Lima, January 9, 2026.- Interbank, Peru's leading bank and part of the holding company Intercorp Financial Services, has just placed senior bonds for US$500 million in the international markets. This is their largest issue to date.
In a highly volatile environment, the bonds were successfully placed at a fixed rate of 4.8%. Demand exceeded US$1.2 billion, almost three times the size of the issue, driven by strong interest from investors in Latin America, the United States, Europe and Asia. The successful placement came after receiving more than 100 offers from local and international investors, through the work of J.P. Morgan, Bank of America and CITI.
"The success of the placement demonstrates the persistent interest of the international markets in Peru and in Interbank, as well as solid confidence in the Peruvian financial system and in the bank's soundness," explained Michela Casassa, CFO of Interbank.
It is worth noting that the term of the issue is 5.5 years. The bonds received a rating of Baa1 by Moody's, and BBB by Fitch.
This successful issuance will allow the bank to strengthen its funding structure and expand its lending capacity, which will directly benefit companies, entrepreneurs and families throughout the country. "Through this, the bank reaffirms its commitment to continue accompanying Peruvians in the fulfillment of their dreams and projects," said Casassa.
