IFS appoints new Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Lima, Peru, April 30, 2013 – Intercorp Financial Services Inc. (“IFS” or “the Company”) (Bolsa de Valores de Lima: IFS) announced that the Company’s Board of Directors, in its session held April 29, 2013, appointed Mr. Luis Felipe Castellanos as Chief Executive Officer, replacing Mr. Carlos Rodriguez-Pastor, and Mr. Gonzalo Basadre as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Intercorp
Financial Services.
Mr. Castellanos has served as Chief Executive Officer at Interbank since January 2011. Previously to 2011, he was Vice President of Interbank’s Retail Banking Division and manager of Interbank’s Mortgage and Real Estate Business Division. Mr. Castellanos joined Interbank in 2006 as General Manager of Interfondos, its mutual fund business. Prior to that, he was a Director in the investment banking division at Citigroup Global Markets in New York. Before joining Citigroup, Mr. Castellanos was responsible for the treasury
department of Minera Yanacocha S.A. He is a Business Administration graduate from the Universidad del Pacifico, Peru, and has a master’s degree in Business Administration from The Amos Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College, United States.
Mr. Basadre has served as Chief Executive Officer at Interseguro since January 2012. Previously to 2012, he was Interseguro’s Chief Investment Officer since 2004. From 1997 to 2004, Mr. Basadre worked for Banco Santander, in the investment banking and private equity divisions in Lima, Miami and Madrid. Earlier, Mr. Basadre worked for AFP Horizonte as head of the treasury department. Mr. Basadre received a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad del Pacifico, Peru, and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, United States.
